We had a wonderful Open Day at the Apiary on Saturday 17th July. The weather held off and the odd bit of sunshine filtered through.
We reckon to have had a total of around forty five visitors spread through the course of the day, around a third of the total membership.
Bacon Butties were provided for all together with a selection of pastries and soft drinks.
Photos above show beginners under training, plants for sale to help club funds, and finding a newly bred queen in the breeding side of the apiary.
Photos below show both the chairman and the Breeding Officer addressing one of the groups who were given tours of the site, followed by a shot of frames being assembled and an apidea on its stand in the breeding apiary.
A most successful day!!
