There is to be a change to my work that will impact on the area. I think your beekeepers should know.
Unless there is a reason to do so, we are no longer carrying out spot check inspections of your
apiaries for disease. It will be only if foul brood has been found in the area
in past years or apiaries in an area at risk for import of hive beetle that I will contact you
My other inspections will be at the beekeepers request, in other words a call out.
The programme in past years has been that I would
inspect your bees at least every three years, branch apiary
every year and new beekeepers on their first year.
THIS YEAR TO OBTAIN AN INSPECTION OF APIARIES, BEEKEEPERS WILL NEED TO CALL ME.

I am available to give talks at your summer apiary meetings, please call me to make arrangements.
Also we would like to know of any beekeepers having high losses of colonies.
Thanks
