Honey Show - Ashtrees Surgery, Carnforth 30/10/2007

The Lancaster Beekeepers annual honey show seems to go from strength to strength. This years show was probably the best honey show we have ever had, certainly we had the most entries ever. It was a very professional looking display thanks to the presentation material we now have as part of our lottery funded development grant. In addition, Bill had made some display stands which show our honey perfectly, and these will be a useful addition for future shows and presentations for the club. Thanks to him for these.

There were 112 high quality entries from 35 attendees, including 69 entries in the honey classes -and once again a BBKA Blue ribband was awarded, this year to Bill & Mary Eglin.

Thanks to all who participated. Thanks to Roger for setting the quiz, & a special thanks to the show subcommittee for all their hard work in organising a successful and well run show

Under the critical eye of the judge. The club would like to proudly congratulate Dennis on a special achievement. All this year Dennis has been preparing for the BBKA senior Judge examination. This has involved a lot of work, including travelling to shows around the country in order to be assessed in his judging skills, culminating in a trip to London to sit the written exam last month. We are pleased to have just heard that he has been successful, and he is now a Senior Honey Judge. Well done Dennis for this very creditable award.
